Welcome to Sçräntúlåp
|
So Yoggles is finally toast! Congratulations to those that burnt his slimely tentacles to a crisp! Also, a huge welcome to our newest members! Please sign up to these forums and have a shufty at them from time to time. We like to post some interesting (and usually amusing) items so feel free to take a browse.
We should be moving onto TOTC 10 HC soon, along with maybe some Ulduar hard modes. We should soon be getting the first few bosses of Icecrown soon as well, so there's plenty for us all to do.
For the new guys, and the old ones who don't know, we organise raids via the in game calender. If you cant make that particualr raid just decline. If you're going to be away for a prolonged period, we have a holiday dates forum.
Please feel free to post anything you like (within reason of course, nothing offensive and no flaming outside of normal guild banter, such as describing last nights events with Vynna's mum, some electrodes and a courgette). this your guild as much ours, so please make yourself at home.
Oh and if you have an idea on how you think the guild can be improved, discuss it with us and your peers, and we'll see if the guild can be made better and even more fun.
Ciao for now

4 hours: 2 bosses
|
My idea of a great raid is one where you spend hours wiping on one boss, doing slightly better each time, and then you finally kill it. As such, tonight's raid was brilliant. We had a couple of people who weren't in last night's four towers raid (including Akalah who had never done the boss with any number of towers up), so it took us a while to get used to our vehicles, and it was a while before we settled upon a tactic. However, at about 9:45 everything came together and we finally killed the bastard, to general rejoicing. Another boss down, another box purple.
After Flame Leviathan, we went onto the XT-002 hard mode, which we got down to 15% on our best try. Sadly it was getting late and we couldn't stay up all night, so after 8 wipes we decided to call it, and on the last try we just killed him on normal mode before going to bed.

An update
|
Well, we're on week #14 of raiding in Sçräntúlåp, and although Yogg-Saron isn't down yet, we've been making progress. We've been keeping up with the Coliseum bosses as they're released, and they haven't been too much of an issue, clearing the whole instance each night we go. Though the Horde Champions remain a pain in the arse, we killed the Twin Val'kyr on our second attempt, and the last boss, Anub'arak, took 3 tries last night and then fell over. Another instance under our belt.
We've been making some form of progress in Ulduar too, with the XT-002 hardmode down last week, and our Yogg-Saron attempts getting into the third and final phase of the boss. Last night we had nine tries on Flame Leviathan with all four towers up, and on our best we got him down to 1%. ONE PERCENT! Hopefully we'll be back in there tonight and finishing it. Expect updates.

Coliseum II: Return of the Sçräntúlåp
|
No RP today - I might phase that shit out.
So, the Argent Tournament finally got their rears in gear and claimed to have sorted out the next boss of the competition! That being said, we had to take down the Northrend Beasts again to get to him/her/them/your mother.
Northrend Beasts seemed easier this week, either through a stealth nerf or our several attempts last week paying off - we wiped only once, and even then those few stragglers who didn't get deep-breathed by Dreadscale made a valiant attempt, finishing him off and starting to pound Icehowl's thick skull. Shit we're getting a bit close to RP here. END RP SEQUENCE.
Then we prepared for the second boss. Some of us had absolutely no idea what on earth it'd be, so when we started the encounter, we were a touch disappointed to see an incredibly slow-walking gnome. But he walked to the centre, said something annoying and summoned a massive-ass portal through which Lord Jaraxxus came and murdered him. Jaraxxus ended up being a relatively straightforward fight (for healers anyway). Boss, adds, avoid the fire, and heal up some strange thing that turns you into a volcano. So easy in fact that we downed him on the second attempt and stole his purples.
Three cheers for extending a raid-lockout! Ulduar succeeded, and General Vezax went down on the second attempt, even though we had new people to the encounter in the raid!
Then it was Yogg-Saron :D I have to say this is probably my favourite fight in Ulduar - it was just so hectic and epic. Once we got our minds (the new people anyway) round what to do, we crept closer and closer to phase 3, finally managing to destroy his mind, getting him to 30% and shattering his shield. Hooray! But then as soon as phase 3 started we got him down to about 29.5% and wiped from something, god knows what. That was the best attempt, and after a few others it was getting late so beddy-byes!
Great runs tonight people, let's hope for the same on Tuesday/next week!

First August Raid! Coliseum and Towers!
|
Ish here again! Yaaaaaaay. Time for some HARDCORE RP.
.intitiate RP sequence;
::RP activated....
Sçräntúlåp, Sçräntúlåp, Sçräntúlåp! The raucous chanting that filled the Crusaders' Coliseum still echoes on, glory and grandeur crashing over the corpses of the Northrend Beasts like waves in a storm.
Gormok the Impaler only bested the intrepid ten-some on occasion, with his snobolds and pools of liquid fire causing more trouble than he. It was not long before his heavily-muscled form crashed to the arena floor, spear in hand, snobolds in pieces. Sçräntúlåp rejoiced!
Dreadscale slithered into Sçräntúlåp's sights soon after, and after much mirthful sneering at the capabilities of the Argent Crusade beast handler, we felt a deep rumble under the coliseum. Acidmaw surfaced next to Dreadscale, wiping the grins from our faces as we stared, dazed, at the two looming figures, fangs dripping with bile and poison respectively. We realised then that we were not facing one, but TWO Jormungar Worms! The worms caused significant problems at outset, but careful co-ordination revealed them as nothing more than spineless invertebrates. Acidmaw plummeted ground-wards first, shortly followed by Dreadscale.
The members of Sçräntúlåp raiding party, under the watchful eyes of Jaina Proudmoore and Tirion Fordring, were feeling elation beyond belief! This elation lasted some short moments as Icehowl crashed through the gate of the Coliseum, skidding into view! For all his fearsome looks and hard blows, he still could not match the mighty power of Sçräntúlåp's ten. Purple clothing was extracted from his lifeless body. Sçräntúlåp have bested the first challenge from the Crusaders' Coliseum!
Now that the adventurers had a taste for victory, and the Coliseum's crowd were urging them on, Ulduar was next to feel Sçräntúlåp's force. Vehicles were provided by Brann Bronzebeard, and Flame Leviathan, who knows the team well by now, was laughing outwardly at the choice to take down only one tower, leaving the Fire, Lightning and Frost towers standing! Not only this, but through an extraordinary set of circumstances, Flame Leviathan received the benefits from the destroyed tower, causing him to do more damage to our vehicles, and on many attempts, to have far more endurance. Persistence prevailed, and the rewards were plentiful! Three towers were left standing when Flame Leviathan fell apart... perhaps four towers standing, the ultimate goal, is not so far from reach after all...
Then we tried xt-002 hardmode for a bit but generally sucked so next time yeah we'll pwn him.
